How Low Can You Go?
Updated: Oct 9, 2020
I'm not talking about weight, I'm talking about mood.
The mental and emotional stress this pandemic is inflicting on us is being felt by all. It's not world peace, but shit, it's damn close because we are all finally finding common ground. Our differences no longer matter. We don't know how much longer this will be and we don't know what the final outcome will be but we know we want to survive.
While listening to a podcast earlier today on lunch, the host talked about what something like this means for us as a human race. The dynamics of how we come together for this is nothing close to what it would be if we were building a bridge or a new building. We don't have a set of drawings, we don't know how long it will take, we don't know the resources it will take to finish it and we don't know what the final product will be once this is all over. We are working in solidarity for isolation in order to keep this virus from spreading.
We are working for the cause of the human race.
I want to you know that this? This is hard for everyone. Perspective is key and there's no way to make it out of this without the right dose. Depending on what influences your day - work, school, kids, pets, hobbies, etc. you're going to have mixed feelings no matter what. One minute you'll be on top of the world and then next minute you will be filled with self doubt wondering about your purpose and if there is in fact hope for better days.
Life tends to have some level of predictability which helps get us out of the lows sometimes and that's because it's based on past events. You're born, you go to school, you grow up and become an adult (well, most of us lol) and then we move on after that. We don't have anything to reference really with what's going on with Corona. Yes, we have had pandemics before in the past but what we had access to then compared to what we have access to now in terms of technology and medicine is very different.

We have the privilege to maintain and create new social connections using various platforms.

We have the ability to play a roll in the future of our world.
We have the privilege to play a roll in the future of our world.
We can chose to check in each day or we can choose to check out, but we are privileged.
There is no denying that because every day is a gift no matter what.
No matter what you are going through, we are going through it together.
Chin up!
If you need help, please ask for it.
And instead of checking out, how 'bout you check in with me. <3
Much love,
